The English Riviera

The English Riviera covers the three towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. It is one of the most popular resorts in the UK and attracts visitors of all ages and interests throughout the year.

There are 22 miles of coastline, cliffs, coves and beaches and walks for you to explore in a climate that is consistently much hotter than the rest of the UK. Along the 22 miles are 19 beaches. Some are open stretches of sand with beach facilities such as cafes, beach huts and watersports. Many more are smaller and more secluded. Several of Torbay's beaches hold coveted awards for cleanliness and water quality.

Torquay
Torquay's waterfront is the focus of life in the town. Here you'll find the palm-lined promenade, seafront gardens, a lively harbour and an International Marina. Yet within minutes of the town centre there are beautiful beaches easily accessible by foot, road or water. There is an abundance of pavement cafes, pubs, restaurants and nightlife, good quality shops and a host of family attractions.

Paignton
Families love Paignton. Its long sandy beaches, colourful atmosphere, paddle-friendly waters and first class attractions are the essential ingredients for a magical family holiday.

Brixham
Sample freshly caught seafood from one of the quayside's fish stalls, or relax in a pub or restaurant and watch life go by. Away from the harbour you can lose yourself in a maze of narrow, winding streets and within walking distance from the town centre you will find some of the Riviera's most spectacular scenery. Sandy beaches and secluded coves give way to the towering cliffs at Berry Head, offering breathtaking views of Torbay.
